Please, introduce your band to croatian audience, and how the band was founded?
DAMIR (Gonoreas): Band Gonoreas exist since 1994, but we play metal since 2000!
In the beginning, nobody listened metal in the 90s.. and then we play not so heavy sound, like now..
How long have you all known each other? How did you meet?
DAMIR (Gonoreas): Gonoreas existed in many formations from the beginning to nowadays, (I am the only original member..hahah) and I know these guys since the beginning of the 2000.
I met a singer on a concert in 2009.
Who is the chief in the band? Who is in charge for music and lyrics?
DAMIR (Gonoreas): We are a democratic band, and we talk about all. All of us can write songs, but the most songs compositions are from Leandro (singer) and me.
Tell us about lyrical themes and ispiration in your songs, where do you find inspiration? What inspired you to make music together?
DAMIR (Gonoreas): Lyrics are about the reality. From the past and now.. We are professional musicians, and that's our passion!
Which are your favourite (own) songs, and why?
DAMIR (Gonoreas): I don't know, we love all our songs, hahah!
I won't ask who are your influences (it is obvious :) ), I will ask you – what are you listening to lately?
DAMIR (Gonoreas): Boahh..Lately I'm listen Deicide and Exumer!
And now, what kind of music you don't like to listen at all ? :)
DAMIR (Gonoreas): I don't like computer music. House, and all the styles of computer sounds.
You have already done some gigs and tours outside of your country.Where was your best gig?
DAMIR (Gonoreas): Croatia! And Japan!
You've probably had some bad experience at the gig? Would you share some of that experiences with us?
DAMIR (Gonoreas): The worst experience was once when we took too many drinks before our gig. 350 people went out from the venue! There were only around 6 drunk people left, and all the others went home. That was terrible. Luckily, it wasn't recorded. It was in 2001.,I think.
What was the most bizarre/weirdest thing that happened while you were on stage?
DAMIR (Gonoreas): Well, I think in 2004., the concert organizer was angry at one guy, and then they made a big fight inside the audience.. That was really crazy..! We stopped the concert for about 15 min.
If you could tour with any band, which band would it be?
DAMIR (Gonoreas): Iron Maiden!
What are your future plans? And where would you love to play?
DAMIR (Gonoreas): Again Japan / Scandinavia..
I assume that metal scene in Swiss is very richly with gigs, but is it too much saturated with the events?
Actually, tell us how is the scene there and does smaller bands are supported?
DAMIR (Gonoreas): Yes, Switzerland has a big metal scene. GONOREAS support smaller metal bands all the time.
Are you familiar with croatian metal scene? Is there any croatian metal band you like?
DAMIR (Gonoreas): Fault.. We don't know croatian metal bands...
Recommend us some metal band from Swiss.
DAMIR (Gonoreas): Final Cut!
What are your hobies, except music? What are you doing in everyday life?
DAMIR (Gonoreas): Other guys have some jobs, and I'm guitar teacher.
Are you familiar with croatian specialities (food and drinks)? What would you love to taste, or you've already had taste?
DAMIR (Gonoreas): We know really good all the food from Balkan! One of the best in the world!!
In nowadays we are flooded with internet and everything is much easier to hear/get, what do you think– does gigs have less audience then before, and what about the merch?
DAMIR (Gonoreas): It is hard to answer on this. We have much more posibillities. About the attendance – everywhere is the same. When organizers invest their own money in gigs, they put a really much effort in organization, and they try to make those gigs very good.
Then, when organizers doesn't have a risk they handle it somehow. So, it is hard to explain it. For us, it is ok, but bigger bands are struggling with it. They have a lack of money which they try to get back with an expensive merch.
Do you already work on some new material at the moment?
DAMIR (Gonoreas): At the moment, no. But maybe at the beginning of winter.
Some message to your fans here?
DAMIR (Gonoreas): Are you ready for real metal nights my friends?!?!
